Welcome to our eclectic group the High Tech Quintet. Our names are Jonathan Sharpe, Marvin Spinner, Kimberly Kay Teague, Margaret Tolliver, and Janice Weaver. This highly qualified group of professionals have impressive resumes, varied interests and hobbies, and lead fairly hectic lives.
We have formed this group to present a unique and informative Wiki page for our Master of Education class EDTC 650, Advanced Instructional Media for the K-12 Classroom. This technology will not be limited to this academic arena but will be utilized in our respective positions in the workplace. Let me take a moment to give you a brief biography of our illustrious members.
Since some of our other classmates have not yet had the opportunity to use a Wiki and how it can use to supplement or even replace other technologies, here is a quick YouTube video:
I will start with myself, Margaret Tolliver. Some think that I am a professional student because this degree is my third, and I promise final degree.I hold a MBA and a MS in Technology Management. I have some classroom experience in the classroom, which has given me some pause about teaching full time. I do plan to utilize this degree in some aspect of the educational profession.
Jonathan Sharpe is our resident military member, serving in locations from Egypt (I was there too) to Iraq. He originally hails from my birthplace of Philadelphia PA. Jon is not only driven by love of country but his beloved Philadelphia Flyers.
Our next group member, Marvin is a teacher at a small but prestigious school that accepts students on an application basis only, ).
I am currently employed at Benjamin Banneker Academic HS in Washington, DC teaching Computer Graphics, Programming, and Computer Applications. Marvin has the unique distinction of being a twin who also teaches.
Kimberly is a proposal writer in a suburb outside of the nation’s capital. She juggles this challenging career with her beloved brood of five children ranging in ages between 8 and 15. Kimberly and I both share a love of hitting the slots, for entertainment purposes only; she makes yearly treks to Sin City, also known as Las Vegas.
Janice rounds out our group, she has been in the field of education and technology for 20 years.
She resides in sunny Florida with her husband. Her current position is at a local community college where she works in the continuing education field of the school’s Health Sciences Campus. Her dedication to the position has meant substantial growth in the institution’s enrollment—which means more work for her but she enjoys her job.
